Your first day at Dovecote
Your child's first days are an opportunity for them to become familiar with their new surroundings, meet their teacher and begin building relationships with the Dovecote team.
We give children the time and space to explore at their own pace, choosing activities that interest them while our educators get to know their individual personalities, interests and preferences.
It is natural for children to feel unsettled when separating from their parents. Our experienced team is here to support them with patience, reassurance and care, helping them feel comfortable in their new environment.
Where appropriate, we can arrange additional settling-in sessions to support your child's individual needs.
We recommend that your child stays for 45 minutes to an hour during their first couple of days. A shorter introduction can help children become familiar with nursery gradually, leaving them with a positive experience and looking forward to their next visit.
